Review of Assassins Creed 2016
What an amazing
movie. I was not expecting such a good level of this movie. The film is
directed by Justin Kurzel, written by Michael Lesslie,
Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, and stars Michael Fassbender (who
also produced), Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Charlotte Rampling and Michael K. Williams. We are
all well aware of the name Assassins Creed. We have played so many games of
this title. Assassins Creed games are no doubt amazing. But this movie also
packs a solid punch. In this movie, we get to know the story behind the amazing
Assassins Creed games. The movie’s graphics quality is very good. Actors performed
very good. Let’s moves towards the story of movie.
In the beginning, we
see few men wearing robes and hoodies style clothes. They are speaking their
ancient language. This is the era of 1400’s. They are talking about apple of
Eden. They are the Assassins Creed brotherhood. They must protect the apple of
Eden from falling into the hands of the temple. Aguilar de Nerha swears to
protect the prince of Sultan who possess the apple. In the 1980’s, we see a boy
riding his bicycle. He tries to jump on a trailer on his bike but fails to do
so. He returns home and sees his dad with a blade and his mother is dead
holding a necklace. We see bunch of black cars coming towards the house. His father
asks the boy to run and live in the shadows.
After 30 years, we
see the boy who is now grown up and his name is Callum. He is charged with
murder and sentenced to death. But he somehow wakes up in a secret lab
facility. Sofia who is a scientist is standing next to him. He starts to get up
and walks toward the room where he finds more people like him. He is about to
jump off a window but Sofia convince him to stay and co-operate. Sofia’s father
named Alan forcefully makes the Callum to go to the machine and relives the
memories of Assassin named Aguilar de Nerha. So he is attached to a machine and
we go back to 1400’s where we relive life of Aguilar de Nerha in the movie. Apple
of Eden is basically a metal ball which contains the genetic information about
the free will. Templars want it for themselves so that they can control the
will of people. In the present, Alan is also searching for the apple by making
Callum relives the memories of Aguilar de Nerha because he was the last person
to know its location.
Aguilar de Nerha duty
is to protect the prince from Templars but he fails. All the actions that Aguilar
de Nerha do, Callum also do it with the help of machine. Callum returns from
his memories and back to his room. He now sees Aguilar de Nerha with his open
eyes who is attacking him. He is hallucinating. Sofia comes and tells him that
these are just side effects. There are other like Callum in the facility
serving different purpose to find the apple. Callum goes back to machine and
again relives the life of assassin. Aguilar de Nerha along with one female
assassin is captured and will be burned alive. Their master is also captured
and burned. Aguilar de Nerha and his friend escapes in a fight but their master
dies.
The prince is captured and Templars exchange prince
for apple. Sultan gives them apple. Aguilar de Nerha and his friend attacks the
scene and secure the apple but his friend gets killed. Aguilar de Nerha gives
the apple to a sailor and asks him to take it to his grave. From there Sofia
finds the location of apple. Meanwhile, other assassins attack the facility and
kills the guards. Sofia and her father escapes in a helicopter. They find the
apple and holds a ceremony in a temple. So it turns out Sofia and her father
are Templars. But Sofia had no clue about this. Callum arrives and kills Alan
and a fight happens. Callum with other assassins attacks the temple and manages
to escape with the apple. In the end, we see three assassins standing on the
roof of a building and movie ends. This was not the greatest movie but it was a
good movie. I had fun watching it.
